Choose a music streamer that connects to your hi-fi

Begin at the back of your existing amplifier, DAC or powered speakers. An analogue line output connects to a compatible line input; a digital output needs a compatible digital input and conversion elsewhere in the system. Match the actual socket types on both devices instead of assuming every streamer offers every connection.

Connections first, services second

  • Keep your amplifier: a separate network streamer adds a music source without replacing the amplification you already own. Check whether you need analogue RCA, optical, coaxial or another supported output.
  • Streaming control: confirm your preferred music service, phone platform and multi-room system are supported by the exact model. Service availability, subscriptions and features can change.
  • TV audio: if a TV connection matters, check for an appropriate HDMI ARC/eARC input or optical connection. HDMI features are model-specific.

Compare three approaches to network playback

The WiiM Ultra connects to an amplifier or powered speakers through analogue or digital outputs. The Bluesound NODE N132 offers a route into the BluOS system. For a separate network source from NAD, compare the NAD CS1. Check each product's supported connections and services against your setup.

Streamer or streaming amplifier?

If you need to drive passive speakers as well as stream music, compare our integrated amplifiers, including models with built-in streaming. Add bookshelf speakers or floorstanding speakers only once amplification is covered.
